ibd Natural Nail Primer – Acid-Reduced Primer for Maximum Adhesion

The ibd Natural Nail Primer is a professional nail primer with reduced acidity – developed for clients with sensitivity to traditional primers. The formula degreases the nail plate and improves the adhesion of gel, acrylic, and dip systems, without the aggressive effect of a classic acid primer. As an authorized ibd dealer, we provide INCI details directly from the physical label – verified, not from the manufacturer's website.

Advantages

  • Acid-Reduced – gentler than traditional acid primers, ideal for sensitive clients
  • Maximum adhesion for gel, acrylic, and dip powder
  • Reliably degreases the nail plate
  • Easy brush application directly from the bottle
  • No curing under the lamp – air dries

The Complete ibd System

The Natural Nail Primer is Step 2 in the complete ibd system:

Application

  1. Wipe the brush on the bottle neck, then blot on a paper towel.
  2. Apply sparingly to the natural nail.
  3. Allow to dry completely.
  4. Then apply gel, acrylic, or dip product.
  5. Close container after use, do not store in sunlight.

Anela's Pro Tip

"I use Natural Nail Primer for clients with known adhesion problems or sensitive reactions to classic primers – the reduced acidity minimizes irritation without sacrificing the necessary pre-treatment. Important: Apply sparingly and allow to dry completely before applying gel – too much primer is one of the most common mistakes I see in training sessions, leading to lifting instead of better adhesion."Anela Mucic, Nail Design World Champion 2023 & INJA Judge

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Natural Nail Primer truly acid-free?
No – this is an important difference from PowerBond. Natural Nail Primer contains Methacrylic Acid (according to INCI), but has significantly reduced acidity compared to a classic primer. It is gentler, but not completely acid-free. If you are looking for a truly acid-free primer, you should use ibd PowerBond.

When do I use Primer, when PowerBond, when Bonder?
Natural Nail Primer: for oily or difficult-to-adhere nails as a classic pre-treatment with reduced acid. PowerBond: as a completely acid-free alternative, compatible with gel, gel polish, and acrylic. LED/UV Bonder: HEMA-free, specifically for ibd gel systems, cured under the lamp.

How much primer should I apply?
Only a very thin layer – excess primer should be blotted off with a paper towel before drying, as too much product can cause lifting.

How long does the primer need to dry before I can proceed?
The primer must air dry completely until no shine is visible – usually 30-60 seconds are sufficient.

Can I use the primer for all nail types?
Yes, it is particularly suitable for clients with oily nail plates or known sensitivity to classic acid primers.
