Anela's Pro Tip
"Polygel is for me the perfect compromise between acrylic and gel – the thixotropic texture gives me the same control as acrylic powder, without odor and with a longer working time. The secret lies in the Slip Liquid: apply sparingly, never too much – otherwise the gel loses its characteristic stability." – Anela Mucic, Nail Design World Champion 2023 & INJA Judge
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between polygel and regular UV gel?
Polygel is thicker and more stable than classic UV builder gels, offering more substance for structural modeling. It is dispensed from a tube and modeled with Slip Liquid, instead of being worked directly from a pot with a brush. The result is similar to an acrylic modeling, but is low-odor and UV/LED-curable.
Is Slip Liquid indispensable?
Yes. Without Slip Liquid, the brush will stick to the polygel, making modeling difficult. Slip Liquid allows for fluid work and can be used after work for gentle brush cleaning.
