My tips for long-lasting cat eye nails – how to achieve the perfect look!
Share
I love Cat Eye nails – they are elegant, mystical, and simply a real eye-catcher! But I also know that it's sometimes not so easy to achieve the perfect magnetic effect and make it last. That's why today I want to share my best tips with you!
1. Proper preparation – the key to long-lasting results
Before I apply the Cat Eye Soak Off Gel, I make sure that the natural nail or the enhancement is perfectly prepared:
✔ Gently remove cuticles & buff the natural nail – this significantly improves adhesion!
✔ Apply a base coat and cure it well – a smooth base is super important.
✔ If necessary, use a color layer as a base – this gives the design more depth.
2. The magnet trick – How to achieve the perfect Cat Eye effect
The wow effect only comes with the magnet – and here, technique is key! This is how I do it:
✔ I hold the magnet over the gel for about 2-5 seconds before curing it.
✔ Different patterns emerge depending on the angle and distance! I often experiment a bit before deciding.
✔ I work in thin layers – too much gel can cause the effect to "run".
✔ Only when I like the pattern do I cure the gel!
3. Seal, seal, seal!
Without a good Top Coat, the look would only be half as beautiful – and above all, not as long-lasting. I prefer to use a high-gloss top coat and seal the design properly.
✔ After curing, wipe with Cleaner if necessary to bring out the ultimate shine.
4. Common mistakes I made at the beginning
❌ Holding the magnet for too long or too short – then the effect becomes either too strong or barely visible.
❌ Not properly curing the color layer – this can reduce durability.
❌ Too thick gel layers – this causes the pattern to "run" and not look clear.
5. My favorite colors for the ultimate Cat Eye look
I love to use different colors depending on the season! Now in spring, the shades from our Spring Cat Eye Collection are simply perfect. The combination of soft pastel colors and the shimmering magnetic effect looks simply breathtaking!
